The "Commerces amis des étudiants"

On LyonCampus, you’ll find the map of businesses in the 7th arrondissement of Lyon that offer specific reductions for students.

The “Commerces amis des étudiants" (Student-Friendly Businesses) experiment carried out by the City of Lyon in partnership with the Lyon 7 Rive Gauche association (french version only) is based on the principle of targeted reductions for students.

The goal is to reinforce student purchasing power in their most popular living area in Lyon, the 7th arrondissement.

How does it work?

Students can locate businesses that offer student reductions in the district by looking for the “Commerces amis des étudiants” sticker on their window. On the map below, you’ll find all the student-friendly businesses in the 7th arrondissement.

An experiment to support student purchasing power:

A number of national and local studies on student purchasing have shown that although they represent a substantial part of local urban consumption, students are faced with very tight budgets.

The “Student-Friendly Businesses” experiment launched following a LyonCampus 2018 survey on student consumption habits in the area aims to support student purchasing power through special offers and discounts at the places where they buy.

This system focuses on the 7th arrondissement of Lyon, which is both a major university neighborhood (with three universities and a number of schools) and the most popular area for student life in the city.
